Psalms 23 Finding Comfort in YAH

One of my favorite Psalms, is Psalms 23, In Psalms 23, we find comfort in knowing that YAHUSHUA watches over us, that HE guides us, that HE protects us, and that HE will always be there for us. We also can se in this Psalms, that HE is the one who can give us true peace. True Restoration.

Here are a Few Translations on Psalms 23:

Psalm 23

King James Version

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

What are somethings you can take away from this Psalms that helps you?

Think of all of the way's that YAH protects you, that YAH guides you, that HE comforts you, HE also fights on our behalf, and gives us the Victory, through YAHUSHUA (JESUS) HIS SON.

Some notes from Psalms 23 that I found in my ESV Student Study Bible:

-The Psalm describes GOD in two ways:

as the Shepherd who cares for the sheep (v 1-4) and as the host who cares for his guests.

-In worship the faithful celebrate GODS greatness and majesty. He is the shepherd for Israel as a whole and for each faithful Israelite as well.

In Psalms 23, YAHUVEH GOD uses sheep to describe HIS Children. Sheep can have the tendency to wander off. Just like Christians, we can wander off at times. In the book of Isaiah 53:6, it says" We all, like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way" When sheep go away, they can be in danger of getting lost, being attacked.

Just like sheep can get lost and astrayed, christians can, by there flesh, and pursuing the pride of life and things of this world. 1 John 2:16. YAHUSHUA (JESUS) is our sheep, who wants HIS lost sheep to come back to HIM. YAHUSHUA(JESUS) speaks of laying down HIS life for HIS sheep (John 10:15, 17-18).

Like sheep, we need a Shepherd, YAHUSHUA(JESUS) talks about the parable of the losst sheep. You can read this in (Luke 15:4-6).

HE searches for us when we are lost, to save us and shows us the way to eternal life. (Luke 19:10).

Psalms 23:1-3 says that the shepherd meets the sheeps every need: food, water, rest and safety, and direction. When we follow YAHUSHUA (JESUS), we know we have all we need, and HE knows what we need. We have to trust our Sheperd to guide us, like sheep do.

YAHUSHUA (JESUS) cares for HIS children, HE is our Good Sheperd. If you have become a lost sheep, return to HIM, and HE will be there with open arms.

I think that Psalm 23 describing YAHUSHUA as a host who cares for HIS guests is a really interesting observation. Psalm 23 talking about YAHUSHUA being the shepherd is something I've heard so many countless times now, it's refreshing to hear this new observation I haven't considered before! I'm starting to think that a host represents a shepherd and the guest represents the sheep. So whenever we read in the Bible about guests, we could substitute it with "sheep" to get new layer of meaning. Whenever we read in the Bible about host, we can substitute it with "host" to get new layer of meaning. Whenever we read in the Bible about "shepherd", we can substitute it with "host" to get…
